NEMA 4 Hose-Down Hazardous Location
Convection Heaters are for use in: "Class I, Division I & II, Groups B, C & D." (T2A-UL, CSA, T3A-CSA) They are for comfort heating in areas where vapors and gases have an ignition temperature over 280°C / 536°F
(T-2A Models) or 180°C / 356°F
(T-3A Models). T-2A heaters are UL listed and CSA NRTL/C Certified and T-3A heaters are CSA
NRTL/C certified. Voltages range from 120V to 600V.
Textured beige baked-on enamel finish. Shipped completely assembled and with Element(s) installed.
Warning: These heaters must not be
operated in ambient temperatures exceeding 40°C (104°F). To assure heaters are not
operated at temperatures exceeding the above, the heater must be controlled by a
thermostat. This must be located at the same level as the heater.

National Electric Code Classifications Determine Where
Hazardous Location Heaters Must Be Used
Class 1
Class 1 locations are areas where flammable gases or vapors are or may be
present in the air in sufficient quantities to be explosive or combustible.
Division 1
Division 1 (Class 1) location is a location (1) in which ignitable
concentrations of flammable gases or vapors can exist under normal operating
conditions; or (2) in which ignitable concentrations of such gases or vapors may
exist frequently because of leakage; or(3) in which breakdown or faulty
operation of equipment or processes might release gases or vapors and might also
cause simultaneous failure of electrical equipment.
Optional Controls for Fostoria FEP Hazardous Location Heaters
Thermostats, contactors, or other forms of controls are not included with FEP
heaters.
Fostoria can provide a hazardous location thermostat (below) which is rated
for heater loads of a max. 22 amps, at voltages 120 VAC through 277 VAC. Not
480 volt.

Any heater that exceeds 22 amps OR is rated at 480 volts or above - requires
an appropriately rated contactor. The contactor is controlled by a Fostoria
EP-ETD-8D thermostat or alternate method of control (by others).
NOTE: Standard FEC contactors are not rated for hazardous locations and must
be located out of the hazardous environment It a hazardous-location enclosed
contactor is required, it must comply with the National Electric coda and be UL
listed for the appropriate hazardous location.

Standard Wall Mounting Brackets: (Included)
 
Note: The junction box extends 5-1/2" from the right end of the housing.
Heaters can easily be installed by one person.
